The Company carries out its energy business through PT Bhumi Jati Power (“BJP”). BJP built Coal Steam Power Plant (PLTU) Tanjung Jati B Unit 5 and 6 (2×1,000 MW) in Jepara Regency, Central Java, as an Independent Power Producer (IPP). The ultra-supercritical technology power plant is built near by the established power plant, Tanjung Jati B (Units 1-4). These power plants are aimed at supplying electricity for the period of 25 years for PT PLN (Persero), following its commercial completion.

In this power plant project, BJP established a consortium with Sumitomo Corporation (50% shares), the Company (25% shares) and The Kansai Electric Power Co. Inc. (25% shares).

In addition to IPP sector, the Company also has built Mine Mouth PLTU of 2×15 MW in Central Kalimantan to support the electricity needs of the Company’s mining concessions. The excess of electricity production will be sold to PT PLN (Persero) when it starts operating.
